Tinget is an app for private groups: each group has a group chat and shared events. These terms are the agreement between you and Tinget (operated by Simen Sollie, Norway) for using the app. By tapping “I agree” in the app you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use Tinget.
1. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
There is no tolerance on Tinget for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not post, send or share, in a message, photo, GIF, file, event, display name or avatar:
- harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation of anyone;
- hate speech, or content that attacks people for who they are (for example their ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation or age);
- sexually explicit material, or any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a minor;
- content that promotes or depicts real violence, self-harm or terrorism;
- spam, scams, malware, or impersonation of another person;
- private information about someone else (such as their address or photos) shared without their consent;
- anything illegal where you or the recipients are.
You are responsible for what you post. Group members can be friends, but these rules apply in every group, private or not.
2. Reporting and blocking
- Report: long-press any message and choose Report. Reports go to a person, not to the other members of the group, and the person you report is not told.
- Block: block a member from the members list or by tapping their picture. Their messages and reactions are hidden from you, and you stop receiving notifications for their messages. You can unblock under Settings › Account › Blocked members.
- You can also email privacy@tingetapp.download.
3. What we do about it
Every report is reviewed by a person. When content breaks these terms, we remove it and remove the user who posted it within 24 hours of the report. Depending on what happened we may also remove the user from every group, terminate their account, and, where the law requires it (for example for child sexual abuse material), preserve the material and report it to the authorities. We may act on breaches we learn about in other ways, not only through reports.
4. Your account
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; you are responsible for what is done with your Tinget account.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or older, if the law where you live requires it) to use Tinget.
- Groups are joined by invite code only. Share a group's code only with people you want in that group.
- You can delete your account at any time under Settings › Account. What is deleted, and what stays in a group's shared history, is described in the privacy policy.
5. Licence to your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give Tinget a licence to store it and show it to the members of the group you posted it in. That licence lasts for as long as the content stays in the group: if you delete your account, your messages, events and attachments remain in the group's shared history (shown as a deleted member). We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
You also give Tinget the permission it needs to:
- read a message when a member reports it, so we can decide whether it breaks these terms;
- keep copies of content when the law requires it, including to hand it to the authorities;
- send a preview of a new message as a push notification, which is delivered through Expo, Apple and Google.
6. The service
Tinget is provided as it is, free of charge, and may change, be interrupted or be discontinued. To the extent the law allows, Tinget is not liable for content posted by other users or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
7. Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app asks you to agree again before you continue, and this page shows the new effective date.
8. Law and contact
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Questions, reports or complaints: privacy@tingetapp.download.
